Scottish Mental Health Arts & Film Festival

We at the Arts Guild hope to host and promote events for this year’s ‘Mental Health Arts & Film Festival’ and encourage our patrons and community to participate.

The Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival celebrates getting creative and connecting with others to improve everyone’s mental health and wellbeing.

Now a regular on the arts scene, the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival has grown to become one of Scotland’s most valued cultural events. The Festival takes place in theatres, cinemas, libraries and community halls throughout October each year to help challenge attitudes towards mental health through the arts.

“Many people who have experienced mental health problems have made fantastic creative contributions to our society.”

The Festival team and co-ordinators across the country are now planning for the 5th Festival, which will take place 1 – 24 October 2011.

This year will see Inverclyde becoming fully involved, hopefully with your help!

If you would like to be part of the festival, please submit the attached template highlighting what you or your organisation would like to do. Don’t worry if you don’t have a venue for your event or production, several local community organisations (including the Arts Guild) have offered the use of their buildings and the festival organisers will allocate suitable events to each of these venues.
